. To file and organize the results of the project in a comprehensive way, friendly to users with diverse back round.
. To develop an appropriate infrastructure for successful dissemination of the results of the project among partners, scientific and industrial community. |
 |
Creation of an interdisciplinary database that will include:
. Photographs, schematic illustrations and information regarding natural organic dyestuff sources such as plants, insects and mollusks typical for the Mediterranean area.
. A ncient recipes on lake - organic pigments production, including dyestuff extraction of the source and lake preparation, and application from all, major, Mediterranean historic periods.
. Effects of extraction conditions, preparation conditions and ageing on the pigment performance will be commented.
. Standard protocols for dye production and application compiled on the basis of reconstructed old recipes, and optimisation.
. Chemical information and synthetic routes for some chemical standards, that are contained as colouring ingredients in the organic dyes.
. Qualitative and quantitative results of the colouring components detected and identified in art objects, using analytical techniques. Artefacts representative for cultural entities of the Mediterranean area and time periods and preferably with maximum art-historical information will be included.
. An electronic multilingual glossary of terms to achieve an effective dyestuff classification and permit search engines to eliminate the time needed for a researcher to locate the information needed. |
 |
| D9.1. Encyclopedia for Natural Organic Pigments of the Mediterranean area. |
 |
. Assessment of all crucial information related to (i) scientific fields such as: cultural heritage protection, conservation and preservation, chemistry, physics, engineering, history, history of technology, plant ecology, (ii) policy makers and (iii) market needs and priorities. Expected result: Creation of a large interdisciplinary database.
. Assessment of appropriate tools to create a friendly environment for any (expert or non-expert) user of the Encyclopedia. Expected result: Development of a "windows" environment, which is broadly used. Development of electronic tools for easy search and relative multilingual glossary of terms will be included. A "help" menu will always provide support to the user. |
For STREPs/STIPs each WP must relate to one (and only one) of the following three possible Activity Types: RTD/Innovation activities, Demonstration activities, Management activities.
Milestones are points where major results have successfully been achieved as the basis for the next phase of work, or which serve as control points at which decisions are needed; for example concerning which of several technologies will be adopted as the basis for the next phase of the project. |
