MUSEUM OF MOROCCAN ARTS (TANGIER). The Museum of Moroccan Arts is housed in the prince's apartments (Dar El Makhzen palace) which are indeed princely: painted wooden ceilings, sculpted plaster work and mosaics, all of them exquisite.
MUSEUM OF ANTIQUITIES (TANGIER). This is placed in
Dar El Makhzen palace, along with the Museum of Moroccan Arts. Moroccan antiquity and prehistory, such as bronzes and mosaics from the Roman sites of
Lixus, Cotta, banasa or Volubilis are among the collection of the museum
DAR BATHA MUSEUM (FEZ.)
This Hispano Moorish palace dating from the end of the XIXth century houses
some admirable collections of traditional art from Fez, such as carpets, jewellery and coins.
OUDAIAS MUSEUM (RABAT).
Carpets with amazing colours and or
namentations are displayed in this
museum.

Placed under the auspices of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, the
Coptic Museum
in Old Cairo
hosts a valuable collection of ancient and mediaeval Coptic textiles
marked by the
ir rich colours and
sophisticated design. The relevant Department of Restoration and Conservation is charged with the
safeguarding of the collection and the preparation of display artefacts.

ALGIERS UNIVERSITY.
Algiers University at Alger and more particularly the departments of History and
Archaeology will be among the target groups for dissemination of the project's results.
CONSTANTINE MUSEUM. This museum contains an exhibition of antiquities from the Numidian and Roman periods.
HIPPO REGIUS MUSEUM.
The museum contains archaeological antiquities discovered during excavations of
Hippo Regius, including some outstanding mosaics.
ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM (BIJAYA). The museum contains exhibits from the Roman and Hafsid periods.

BARDO MUSEUM (TUNIS). This museum is in itself an architectural landmark (13 th
century). Priceless
acquisitions from all parts of the Tunisian territory corresponding to Prehistoric, Carthaginian, Roma, Christian
and Islamic era are displayed.
EL JEM MUSEUM.
Treasures of Roman Thysdrus, El Jem's illustrious predecessor, including a large collection of mosaics, sculptures and metal objects typical for the Roman period are displayed in this museum.
THE RAQQADA MUSEUM.
This former presidential palace, located near the
archaeological site of Raqqada,
houses the largest museum of Islamic
art in Tunisia. Ceramics, coins and manuscripts dated to the Islamic
period are among the exhibits.
